OFORIKROM MCE DECLARES 2026 A ‘YEAR FOR DELIVERY’ AT FIRST MANAGEMENT MEETING

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed, has urged management to demonstrate urgency, discipline and accountability in their work as the Assembly positions itself to deliver tangible results in 2026.

Addressing the first management meeting of the year held on Thursday, January 15, 2026, the MCE described the year as critical to meeting the expectations of residents and improving overall performance. “As we begin this year, I want us to be clear in our minds that 2026 is a year for delivery. The people we serve are watching, and their expectations are high,” he said.

He acknowledged that while some progress was made in the previous year, challenges such as delayed reporting, weak coordination and bureaucratic delays negatively affected service delivery. Hon. Sadat Ahmed therefore called on all departments and units to align their activities strictly with the 2026 Annual Action Plan and Composite Budget, stressing that accountability would be required where targets are not met.

Revenue mobilization was identified as a major priority for the year, with the MCE noting that Internally Generated Funds (IGF) directly influences the Assembly’s ability to carry out projects and daily operations. He urged management to take collective responsibility for supporting revenue mobilization efforts and addressing leakages across departments.

The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Kwasi Mintah Owusu further appealed for improved work ethic, punctuality, proactive supervision and timely reporting, emphasizing that accurate reports are essential for effective monitoring, decision-making and efficient use of resources. He also called for unity, teamwork and non-partisan professionalism among staff, assuring openness to dialogue to help resolve challenges that may hinder service delivery.
