MANHYIA AND OfMA UNITE FOR A CLEANER CITY: CELEBRATING 25 YEARS OF OTUMFUO OSEI TUTU II’S REIGN

In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the reign of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Manhyia Palace and Oforikrom Municipal Assembly organized a comprehensive cleanup exercise to enhance the cleanliness and environmental sustainability of the city and its communities.

The event which occurred on Saturday, February 3, reflected the assembly’s commitment to fostering a healthy and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents and visitors alike.

The exercise witnessed the active participation of the Municipal Chief Executive, assembly staff, Assembly members as well as some residence in the municipality.

Armed with brooms, trash bags, and a shared sense of civic responsibility, participants diligently scoured the streets and public spaces, collecting litter, debris, and waste.

The efforts of participants resulted in the successful collection and proper disposal of several tons of waste, including plastic bottles, cans, and non-biodegradable materials. The exercise not only improved the visual appeal of the municipality but also contributed to reducing environmental pollution and safeguarding public health.

Beyond the physical cleanup, the event served as an opportunity to raise awareness about responsible waste management practices, fostering a culture of environmental consciousness and encouraging sustainable habits among community members.
