Officials from the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly, led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed, on Tuesday paid a working visit to some selected public schools within the municipality.

The visit forms part of the “My First Day at School” an initiative which aims to warmly welcome first-time pupils into the formal education system and encourage their dedication to learning across the country.

Some of the selected schools visited were, Oforikrom, Bomso, Emena and Weweso M/A Basic Schools.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed, together with the Municipal Educational Director, Mrs. Dorothy Opare Baidoo, gave the students learning materials (books) to facilitate their studies and some snacks for refreshment and a new start.

In attendance were the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Charles Attah-Mensah, the Presiding Member, Hon. Richard Nyarko, Heads of Department, Elected Assembly members, Government appointees and staff members from the Oforikrom Education Directorate.
