President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo - Addo has officially commissioned the Kumasi One Terminal Power Plant (K1TPP) AT Anwomaso in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The inauguration of the initial stage of the Anwomaso 1 Thermal Power Plant in Kumasi took place on Wednesday, April 17. With a total capacity of 150 megawatts, the plant signifies a significant achievement in the government's endeavor to ensure a consistent power supply, particularly in the Ashanti Region.

During the inauguration ceremony, President Akufo-Addo highlighted the escalating demand for electricity due to the country's expanding population and economic activities. He emphasized the importance of projects like the power plant in augmenting the nation's energy provision to meet the expectations of its citizens.

President Akufo-Addo reaffirmed his administration's commitment to fostering economic growth and social advancement nationwide. He also underscored the Ashanti Region's role in nurturing small and medium-scale enterprises, as well as commercial and industrial sectors.

The President expressed optimism that the power plant would bolster electricity supply, enabling these enterprises to expand and generate more job opportunities for the youth. He reiterated his government's dedication to fulfilling promises, particularly in delivering affordable and reliable electricity to support the nation's industrialization agenda and position Ghana as a net exporter of electricity in the ECOWAS region.
