ASHANTI REGIONAL MINISTER ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC ROAD PROJECTS TO ENHANCE HEALTHCARE ACCESSIBILITY

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Simon Osei-Mensah, has disclosed the commencement of strategic road projects aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility across the region.

Speaking during a day-long inspection tour of infrastructural developments, the minister emphasized the significance of these initiatives in improving healthcare delivery.

The road projects, which encompass the partial reconstruction of several key feeder roads including the 6-kilometer Emena-Appiadu-Donyina Feeder Roads and the 3.3-kilometer Appiadu-Apromase Feeder Road, along with 25 kilometers of critical access roads within the Oforikrom, Ejisu, and Bosomtwe Districts, are envisioned to facilitate easier access to healthcare facilities in the region.

Highlighting the broader objectives, Minister Osei-Mensah underscored that upon completion, these roads would not only enhance connectivity but also interlink various hospitals in the region, such as the Ejisu Government Hospital and Oforikrom facilities.

During the inspection, the minister visited several ongoing projects, including the Kumasi International Airport, Agenda 111 hospital projects at Asokore Mampong and Oforikrom municipalities, as well as ongoing road and bridge constructions in the Oforikrom municipalities.

Accompanying the Regional Minister were key officials including the Oforikrom Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Abraham Antwi, the Municipal Engineer, Madam Gloria Asiedu-Ampem, and Municipal Urban Roads Director, Madam Gloria Adwubi.
