The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Oforikrom, Hon. Anwel Sadat Ahmed MCE, on Monday, December 1, 2025, marked his birthday with charity visits reinforcing his message of “brightening the corner where you’re.”
His birthday, celebrated a day earlier on November 30, was commemorated through acts of service aimed at supporting vulnerable groups within the municipality.
Hon. Sadat visited the All Nations Charity Home at Ayigya, King Jesus Charity Home at Boadi and the Life Community Special School at Deduako, where he interacted with teachers, students, caregivers, and staff, assuring them of the Assembly’s continued support.
He encouraged the children to remain hopeful and focused on their future despite the challenges they face and also commended the caregivers for their commitment to nurturing the young ones. Hon. Sadat highlighted the importance of supporting persons with special needs, stressing that every member of the community deserves attention and compassion.
Directors of the two charity homes, Rev. Philip Nyamekye of All Nations and Rev. Kofi Owusu Afriyie of King Jesus Charity Home, expressed their profound appreciation to the MCE for what they described as a timely and thoughtful intervention. They also outlined key challenges requiring the Assembly’s attention, including the need for job opportunities for graduates from the homes and the poor road networks leading to their facilities.
At the Life Community Special School, the Municipal Education Director, Madam Dorothy Opare-Baidu, on behalf of the school, commended the MCE for his kind gesture. She assured the Assembly of the school’s commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. She also pleaded for the completion of a school block to facilitate teaching and learning.
Hon. Sadat described the outreach as an expression of gratitude and a call to action, reminding residents that development is strengthened when compassion guides leaders.
Among the items donated were bags of sugar, gari, beans, wheat, boxes of mineral water, soft drinks, tomato paste, cooking oil and tubers of yam, and a total amount of GH¢10,000.00 to the institutions.
The visit also saw the Presiding Member, Hon. Richard Nyarko, the Social Welfare and Community Development Officer, Madam Mary Serwaa Adjen, Assembly Members, and staff of the Assembly, reflecting a unified front in championing social welfare and inclusive development.
