BODY RECOVERED FROM SUSAN RIVER AFTER HEAVY RAINS; INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

A man believed to be in his late 40s was found dead this morning in the Susan River in Oforikrom, prompting a joint response from the Oforikrom National Disaster Management Organization, the Oforikrom CID, and the Oforikrom Environmental Health Department.

The team proceeded to the scene, where they successfully retrieved the body from the river.

Preliminary information gathered from local sources suggests that the deceased may have been intoxicated at the time of the incident. It was reportedly raining heavily in the area during the night, leading authorities to suspect that the man may have accidentally slipped and fallen into the river.

The body has since been transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution during severe weather and avoid areas near rivers and open waterways, especially under the influence of alcohol. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
