The construction of an Assembly block for the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly which forms part of central government’s commitment to support the newly created districts across the country with assembly blocks, has seen some major progress after the project halted due to some technical hitches.
A monitoring team led by the MCE; Hon. Abraham Antwi visited the site to ascertain progress on the project. In a brief meeting the consultant and general manager for the project assured the monitoring team that by the end of the month, the roof of the project would have been completed and completion of the project would be nearing.
The General Manager was grateful for the visit and was optimistic that with the current pace of work, the team would appreciate the quality of work on the project in their subsequent visit, especially on the floors as insisted by the team.
To ensure effective monitoring of the project, the team requested for a programme of schedule (work plan) and subsequently agreed on a monthly monitoring exercise to ensure a smooth completion of the project.
The monitoring team included, the Municipal Coordinating Director, MR. Charles Attah-Mensah, the Works Engineer, Ms Gloria Ampem, the Budget Officer, Mr. Adomako, the Information Officer, Ms. Josephine Larbi and the Development Planning officer Ms. Irene Godi.
