Hon. Gloria Temmah Gambrah, MCE for Oforikrom as part of her annual routine visits to schools in the Municipality to welcome fresh pupils into a new academic year dubbed "my first day at school", has handed over a 3-unit classroom block to the Apiadu RC JHS on Tuesday 20th January, 2021 at Apiadu.
It was necessary that the building is handed over to the school since the Corona Virus Pandemic delayed its commissioning.
In a brief ceremony, after Hon Temmah Gambrah led her entourage to inspect the architecture, pointed that it took the Assembly about three months to complete the school block after the previous structure was hit by a heavy storm which destroyed the block.
The architecture has three classrooms, a common room for teachers, separate places of convenience for both males and females and most importantly disability friendly.
Madam Dorothy Opare-Baidu, the Municipal Education Director (OfMA), officially received the keys from the MCE and handed it over to the headmaster of the school. She advised them to make the most efficient use of the structure and also ensure its utmost maintenance.
Commending the MCE for honoring her promise to the school about three months ago, the headmaster Mr. Anthony Osei Boateng on behalf of the school acknowledged that it was a timely intervention by the assembly since it would reduce the class sizes to enable them adhere to the physical distance protocols during teaching and learning in these trying t
