In an attempt to resolve the poor sanitation practices in the municipality, the Oforikrom Municipal Assembly commissioned a skid pad on Friday 24th January, 2020 at Anloga West Electoral area.
The skid pad is to ensure safe and proper sanitary practices where rubbish would be well maintained in containers rather than seen piled up and unattended to.
The MCE, Hon. Gloria Temmah Gambrah stated that, government cares for all citizens irrespective of one’s political affiliation hence would not relent in fixing problems faced residents in her municipality.
She called on residents to duly pay their taxes to the Assembly having, indicated that the skid pad was funded from the Assembly's Internally Generated Fund (IGF). She again urged them to translate their appreciation into support for government to do more.
Dumega Kofi Wukenya who represented the Anlo chief of Ashanti region and chaired the event appreciated the efforts of the Municipal Assembly and said the skid pad would go a long way to address the sanitation challenges within the community.
Assembly member for the area, Hon. Hopeson Keku also revealed, the absence of a skid pad was a major issue that confronted his community. He deemed it a great joy for having the facility in his community.
Alhaji Mustapha Ali, the Oforikrom Anloga Zongo Chief prayed for the Hon. MCE having said he was overwhelmed of the provision of the skid pad by the assembly.
Meanwhile two more projects are underway to be commissioned in due course.
