The Susan River is a major water body in the Oforikrom Municipality which lies between Bomso- Susankyi and Oforikrom-Anloga communities. Over the past years, the river has posed a difficulty in movement of cars and inhabitants across the river from one town to the other especially during rainy seasons since there are no properly constructed bridges on the river to link these communities.
It is to these prolonged effects that the MCE for Oforikrom, Hon. Abraham Kwame Antwi and the MP for Oforikrom Constituency Hon. Emmanuel Marfo have collaborated with the Ministry for Roads and Highway Authority to construct the road to link these towns.
In a brief ceremony that took place on the 27th of January 2022 at Bomso, the consultant of the project officially handed over the necessary papers/documentations to the contractor for the commencement of the much anticipated project.
Hon. Kwame Antwi assured the team that all structures that might hinder the construction at the site would be cleared for the immediate commencement of the project.
He gave this assurance following a plea from the contractor about the challenges associated with clearing structures along the river for the commencement of the project.
The consultant in the speech assured the MCE and MP and all present that the project would be completed within 90days from its commencement.
The Municupal Director for Urban Roads, Assembly members for Bomso and Oforikrom and some opinion leaders were also in attendance.
