The Oforikrom Municipal Assembly assisted some 75 persons living with disabilities by way of providing them with some machinery and some other support that can aid them in their line of work for them to make a living on the 16th of January 2020.
The beneficiaries were given commercial sewing machines, Lap top computers, second hand clothings and chest freezers. These were requests made by them to support their goals in their field of chosen employments.
The Hon. MCE, Gloria Temmah Gambrah indicated disability is not inability and urged the beneficiaries to make very good use of the donations. She encouraged the beneficiaries to make very good use of the items so that they don’t get to the streets to beg for a living.
She made emphasis on how some persons living with disability are working hard to support their families and indicated their situation is no excuse for begging as long as they work hard to make money for themselves. Hon. Gambrah said she was elated doing the presentation because to her, supporting a needy person is the best thing anyone could ever do.
