OFMA MCE takes first jab of the Covid-19 Vaccine

In pursuant to the President, His Excellency Nana Akuffo-Addo's measures put in place to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic, Oforikrom Health directorate has received 17,495 doses of AstraZeneca vaccine. The vaccines, as tested and approved by the regulatory entities have been distributed to all parts of the country for the first phase of the vaccination to be carried out.

As the Chief Executive of the Oforikrom Municipality, Hon. Gloria Temmah Gambrah  and her entourage willingly took the vaccine and pleaded with all and sundry to follow suit. This took place on Tuesday, 2nd March 2021, at the Assembly’s Conference Room in the presence of the press, the security service and other health officials.

Hon. Temmah Gambrah encouraged the citizenry in Oforikrom Municipality to stay safe, adhering to the safety protocols and also be vigilant in their various neighborhood so that once it’s announced for the necessary age group to take the shots, they can quickly do so.

The Coordinating Director for OfMA Mr. Justice Amoah, the Presiding Member Hon. Frank Frimpong, Tech Police Commander Supt. Maxwell Antwi and the OfMA Director for Health Dr. Kingsley Osei-Kwakye were also vaccinated after Hon. Gambrah took her shot.  

The teams of health officials who gave the shots advised the populace to disbar any rumors against the vaccine and indicated that all the necessary information are taken before the first dose is administered. Also one must note that the vaccine comes in two doses; the second dose is administered a few weeks after the first dose. They further noted that the vaccine was harmless.
