The Oforikrom Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Gloria Temmah Gambrah has assured the people of Appiadu that the Assembly is committed to its development emphasizing that, the community hasn’t been forgotten as being purported however making every effort to develop the Appiadu into a model community.
Hon. Gambrah made this statement when she interacted with the people of Appiadu in a community durbar, an initiative by the Assembly to include residents of the municipality who are also stakeholders by soliciting their views on how best the Assembly could execute its mandate. held on the 10th of June, 2019.
She noted that government is much enthused about deepening the decentralization of governance to speed and increase developmental projects, hence the creation of the new districts of which Oforikrom is a beneficiary.
The MCE added that the Assembly is thus in consultation with major stakeholders and entrepreneurs to take advantage of government’s flagship programme “one district one factory project”- an initiative that could help alleviate the unemployment rate within the municipality as well as improve the skills of people.

This notwithstanding, the Hon. Gambrah was optimistic that the Assembly will work tirelessly to resolve such issues in due time. She concluded that if the Assembly could achieve its goal, the support and cooperation of the community would be greatly needed.
In an open forum, residents also took the opportunity to voice out their concerns notable among them were; the need for waste bins, provision of street lights illuminate the community at night, beef up the security system, expansion of schools, good road networks and potable water systems among others.
The MCE and her entourage later cut a sod at Appiadu R/C Basic School for the construction of a 3 Unit Block for the kindergarten pupils. The project, funded by the GETFUND of the Assembly when completed would help improve child education the young ones in the community and beyond.
