The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Botanical garden is under new management.
Mr. Kofi Boakye-Yiadom the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Pine Spring Limited is now the new manager of the facility.
A visit to the place revealed the facility needed a facelift urgently to boost tourism in the municipality. In an interview with Mr. Boakye-Yiadom revealed that, the site had been leased to him for 35years. Within the stipulated years, revenue generated will be geared towards the redevelopment of the garden.
According to Mr. Boakye-Yiadom, moves are underway to have the facility reshaped to suit the status of a botanical garden.
Currently, the facility has been turned into a prayer ground as many churches have created spots for their operations.
Mr. Boakye Yiadom is poised to ensuring the Botanical garden becomes a tourism site to be adored by many in the municipality and Ashanti region as a whole.
“…we will commence work by September and hopefully by December this year, the botanical garden will have a facelift and good for tourism”. He averred.
