In the wake of an impending third wave of the novel corona virus known as Delta Variant it has become prudent for citizens to adhere to all the safety protocols put forward by the Ghana Health Services/government.

In line with the above, the Oforikrom Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Gloria Temmah Gambrah visited some major market centers in the municipality to inspect and sensitize traders on the need to observe the safety protocols ie wearing of face mask correctly, hand washing, use of sanitizer and observing physical distancing.

Interacting with some traders, the MCE stressed on the need for everybody to take a personal decision to protect themselves and their loved ones from getting the deadly virus.

She added that government is making efforts to get the nation vaccinated however until that is achieved the onus lies on each individual to take practical steps to protect him/herself and family from catching the virus, this she believes would go a long way to help bounce the country back economically.

She added that the surge in the number of infected people in the country and particularly the Oforikrom Municipality is worrying and an indication that we have relaxed in the adherence to the safety protocols.

In all, four market centers namely; Anloga Onion Market, Kotei, Ayeduaase and Ayigya markets were visited where she donated some boxes of hand sanitizers and face mask to the traders as the Assembly’s commitment to the fight against the virus.

The traders were grateful to the gesture and promised to observe the protocols by wearing the masks given correctly and sanitize their hands regularly
