Ayeduase residents get a 3 unit classroom block from Oforikrom Municipal Assembly

The Oforikrom Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Gloria Temmah Gambrah has handed over a newly built 1No 3-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities on Wednesday, 22nd January, 2020 at Ayeduase R/C Primary School in the Municipality to authorities of the school.

Before this intervention, the pupils were learning in a dangerous dilapidated building which was life threatening.

Hon. Gloria Gambrah said she was optimistic the facility was going to serve its intended purpose by providing an environment conducive for effective teaching and learning. According to her, she could not have watched on for a calamity to occur before intervening.

She indicated that the NPP government led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is always ready to discharge his core business with high level of commitment and passion and the typical example in education sector is the implementation of the Free SHS policy.

She added that, the Assembly therefore has a responsibility to contribute their quota to ensure that the basic level education is adequately prepared to feed the second cycle institutions. She called on the school authorities to ensure good maintenance of the facility.

Nana Yaa Saah I, the Queen mother for Ayeduase who chaired the event was elated and thanked the government and the MCE for such initiative in her community. She indicated as a Queen mother, she was saddened by the situation where school children and their teachers operated in a classroom that could cause a tragedy. To her, the commissioning of the facility comes as a relief.

Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Marfo Member of Parliament for the Oforikrom Constituency on his part revealed more projects were underway for the community.

The headmistress of the school Madam Matilda Akom showed appreciation, having revealed how dangerous it was operating in the old structure. She praised the efforts of the assembly led by her abled MCE, Hon. Gloria Temmah Gambrah.
